A 71-year-old cruise ship passenger died on Tuesday in the area of the Sand Bar.

Shortly before 2.00pm, police received a report that a man was unconscious and unresponsive on the water near to Coral Gardens.

Samir Rizk of Raleigh, North Carolina, a cruise ship visitor, was found floating on the water by people on a boat at the Sand Bar near Coral Gardens.

Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing and further details will be made available in due course.
