West Bay Police arrest suspect for firearm, drugs and prohibited weapon offences

On Saturday 5th April 2014 around 12:30 am Officers from the West Bay Police Station responded to a report of suspicious persons at the Public Beach Cabanas on the 7 Mile Beach.
On the arrival of the Officers, one individual was searched and a Knuckle Duster was recovered from his right front pocket. The suspect a 27 yr. old male from Bodden Town was then taken into custody.
The Officers observed several vehicles parked at the parking lot and commenced to identify which vehicle was connected to the suspect. A Toyota vehicle was identified as being associated to the suspect. As result of this a search was conducted of the vehicle and quantity of ganja was found. A further search of the vehicle revealed a specifically adapted flare gun which was loaded with one live round, so adapted to fire that caliber of ammunition.
The investigation into the incident continues and the suspect remains in custody.
