2026 New Year Message from Her Excellency Governor Jane Owen

H.E. Governor Jane Owen

Hello Everone

I wanted to take this opportunity, as we stand on the threshold of the year 2026, to wish you and your loved ones all a very, very happy New Year.

I guess this is a time where we look back over the old year with a sense of gratitude for all the good experiences we’ve had, and indeed a sense of gratitude for the challenges – and perhaps some of the resilience that we feel that these have given to us.

And I hope, as well, that as we look forward to 2026, we do so in a spirit of optimism and courage and compassion. Sometimes it feels that here in Cayman, we are a set of small islands in a world of change, and sometimes quite a lot of uncertainty as we look out away from our borders.

But I know as we look towards the new year 2026, we do so united in our determination to continue to grow Cayman’s economy, to make sure that our public services and government are delivering adequately for everyone; to continue to build our sense of community in this wonderful, diverse nation and to celebrate Cayman’s very, very special culture, and ultimately also to reach out away from our borders across to find new friends, new opportunities, so that we can continue to strengthen Cayman’s place in the world.

I also wanted to say a special thank you to Premier André Ebanks and his Government, to the whole of Parliament, to the Deputy Governor, and the Attorney General, and indeed to all of you and everybody across the whole country and all of our islands, who continue to bring your talents and ideas so that we can make sure that the next year will be another successful and special one.

And so, wherever you are, however you’re celebrating: I wish you a healthy, happy and successful coming year 2026.
