  • Round of 16 to feature eight home-and-away series across two weeks
  • Five pre-seeded clubs will join Round One winners in Round of 16
  • Concacaf launches “The Beautiful Obsession” brand campaign and premiers “Juego de Campeones” documentary series

Miami, FL (Monday, March 9, 2026) – The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup, the 61st edition of the region’s premier men’s club competition, is set to continue with the Round of 16 kicking off tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10.

Participating Clubs
The Round of 16 features 16 clubs from across the region, including the 11 teams that advanced from Round One and five clubs that entered the competition directly in this stage as pre-seeded teams.

The Round One winners secured their places following two-leg series played across four weeks in February. They are now joined Deportivo Toluca FC (Mexico), Inter Miami CF (United States), LD Alajuelense (Costa Rica), Mount Pleasant FA (Jamaica) and Seattle Sounders FC (United States) which qualified via their respective domestic leagues (Liga MX and MLS) and regional club competitions (Caribbean Cup, Central American Cup, and Leagues Cup).

Competition Format
The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continues with the Round of 16, featuring 16 clubs competing in eight home-and-away series.

Each Round of 16 matchup will be played over two legs, with the aggregate score determining which club advances. The eight winners will move on to the Quarterfinals, followed by the Semifinals, both of which will also be played as two-leg home-and-away series.

The competition will conclude with the Final on May 30, 2026, which will be played as a single-leg match to crown the region’s champion.

Pathway to Global Competition
While the remaining teams will be vying for the title of regional club champion, they will also be competing for a chance to play on a global stage. The winner of the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup will secure qualification for the next edition of the FIFA Club World Cup in 2029, as well as the 2026 FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

The FIFA Club World Cup berth represents one of four slots allocated to Concacaf, with 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup winners Cruz Azul already occupying one of those positions.

Where to Watch
Fans will be able to follow the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 through the Confederation’s TV partner networks, including FOX Sports (USA – English), TelevisaUnivision (USA – Spanish), FOX Mexico (Mexico), One Soccer (Canada), ESPN | Disney+ (Central America, Caribbean, and South America), and the Concacaf Official Platforms for all other territories (subject to territory restrictions).

The Beautiful Obsession
Concacaf has unveiled a powerful new brand campaign for the Concacaf Champions Cup centered on “The Beautiful Obsession.” The campaign highlights the relentless pursuit of glory that drives players, clubs, and fans across the region’s premier club competition.

Building on the platform that it is hard to get here, hard to win here, and even harder to win here again, the campaign captures the emotions, traditions, and defining moments surrounding the tournament. The multi-faceted initiative also continues the momentum of Concacaf’s previous brand platform, “Who is the you when the jersey goes on?”.
