Another wounding in East End – Man arrested

A man was arrested following an altercation at a house in the East End area last night. The altercation, involving two men, led to both being admitted to hospital for treatment to their injuries.

About 8.00pm on Wednesday 15 January, the men, who are known to each other, became involved in an altercation in a house on John McLean Drive. The altercation spilled out into the yard, where one of the men allegedly stabbed the other. Nearby residents intervened and the suspect ran off.

Police and paramedics arrived on the scene a few minutes after the incident took place. The injured man, aged 24, was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital suffering from lacerations to his head and torso. His condition is described as stable.

The suspect, aged 48 years, was located and arrested by police less than forty minutes later. He was also found to be injured. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was transported to hospital for treatment to his arm injury. Both men remain in hospital at this time.

Police are on the scene of a wounding that occurred in east End earlier tonight. One male is in police custody and the victim has been taken to the GT Hospital for treatment. A further update will follow.
