Cayman Islands Crisis Centre to be Beneficiary of 100WHF 2014 Fundraising Events in the Cayman Island.

100 Women in Hedge Funds (100WHF), a leading non-profit organization for professionals in the alternative investments industry, today announced the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC) as the beneficiary of 2014 100WHF Cayman fundraising activities, including the inaugural 100WHFCayman Gala to be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014. CICC is the only women’s safe house in the Cayman Islands and has provided housing, counselling and support services to more than 700 women and their children since its inception in 2003.

100WHF’s mission was established on three core pillars: industry education, peer leverage and philanthropy. Philanthropically 100WHF aims to utilize its collective abilities and expertise in order to give back to the local community in an impactful way. To date the organization has raised US $33 million (gross) globally for philanthropic causes. The global philanthropic theme for 2014 is women and family health and will continue to rotate with 100WHF’s other core philanthropic themes, education and mentoring, each year.

“Our mission at 100WHF is to create opportunities for our members to accumulate valuable industry knowledge through unique educational sessions, connect with their industry peers and make a difference in the communities in which they live. We launched our Cayman Islands location in 2013, and in just one year have seen substantial growth in local membership, and a strong commitment from local firms to our organization,” Amanda Pullinger, Chief Executive Officer of 100WHF, said. “We are pleased that the philanthropic pillar of the 100WHF Cayman location is just as strong as its education and peer leverage counterparts. I have no doubt that our inaugural Gala and other fundraising will be enthusiastically supported by the industry and be a huge success for CICC, a very worthy local cause.”

CICC provides both shelter and counseling support for children and families affected by domestic violence. With the additional funding from 100WHF, CICC will be able to make an even greater difference by increasing the capacity and variety of counseling and health-related support services.

“We are grateful to the 100WHF community in the Cayman Islands for choosing CICC as its beneficiary for 2014. This is a wonderful example of women helping other women and families. Our ultimate goal at CICC is to see a dramatic reduction in the levels of domestic violence on the Island,” Alisson Clark, Chairwoman of the CICC Fundraising Committee said. We believe that by providing all those affected by domestic violence with the tools to work through their own experiences, we can help to break the cycle of violence and provide families and children with

the support they need at a critical time. The funds and awareness raised by the participation of 100WHF will go along way to helping these vulnerable families.”
