Take a look at the participating restaurants so you can start planning your Taste of Cayman experience. From beautiful beef to succulent seafood to delicious desserts, there will be dishes that will tempt every taste bud! Meet Our Chefs: Suladda May (Thai Orchid)

Thai food is surely one of the world’s most interesting and exotic cuisines, with its contrasting flavors and textures. Cayman’s very own Thai Orchid is arguably one of the best, if not busiest restaurants on the island. Suladda May and her team of Thai chefs are probably your best option for Thai food outside of Bangkok. Make sure you sample their goodies at Taste of Cayman 2014! For now, let’s meet Suladda May, the artiste behind the masterpiece that is Thai Orchid!

Mamma Mia! Prepare To Be Entertained!

We mentioned it in the last newsletter but we can’t help talking about it again. We are so excited about the entertainment at Taste this year! We assure you that you won’t be disappointed.  We’ve got Cayman’s very own Swanky Kitchen Band taking us down memory lane throughout the evening, and then ABBA Mania out of Toronto will be taking us into the night.  You don’t want to miss it. Come for the food, stay for the party! Read more about our two great acts here.

Let’s Get Ready to “Rum”ble!

Seven Fathoms have issued a challenge: the Cayman Rum Challenge!  Watch as master mixologists shake down in a rum rumble on the All Things Cayman stage! There will be a preliminary run where competitors create their own signature drink. Contestants will be graded on the creativity of the drink name, style and taste of the drink. The top five contestants will go on to compete in the final heat, where there will be a “mystery ingredient” revealed, at which point they will be given 10 minutes on the clock to create a drink featuring the ingredient to be served to the judge’s panel.

The winner will be crowned Cayman’s 2014 Top Mixologist and receive a trophy and a 20 litre barrel of rum.  Not too shabby!

Hew’s Supplies: Keeping Us Stocked Up!

30,000 plates, 18,500 cups, 50,000 napkins, 30,000 spoons and 35,000 forks…that’s what it takes to successfully pull off a Taste of Cayman Festival.  The people responsible for making this happen: Hew’s Hotel & Restaurant Supplies! We just couldn’t do it without them! Kristen and her team keep our booths stocked with every disposable item you can think of.  Look out for the Hew’s mobile making its way around the Festival Green topping the booths up!

In addition, Hew’s makes sure everyone keeps it clean with hand sanitising stations all around the Festival Green.  With all that delicious food, you’re bound to get sticky fingers, right?

Most importantly, once again Hew’s is supplying us with our souvenir Taste of Cayman wine glasses! Make sure you grab one.

Taste of Cayman Food and Wine Festival is the largest fundraiser for the non-profit Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA). This festival would not be possible without our generous sponsors each year.
