OPINION: Is there any hope in Saint Vincent under this dirty leadership?

By Jolly Green

If we were ruled by the British today, we would never accept from them what we accept today from the Unity Labour Party in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. You can be sure things would be a million times better.

Our roads are full of potholes and in some cases are subject to total surface destruction and failure. Our bridges and waterways are in abdominal condition, and even those bridges recently built starting to suffer from no maintenance or care. Waterways are full of debris, waste and decaying plant matter including branches and trees, just waiting for the next significant rain to overflow and flood. Roadside verges and banks are overgrown causing vision splay loss.

Buildings such as clinics and government offices falling into disrepair. Air-conditioning in most government departments go without servicing and when broken down just left unrepaired. Almost every government-owned building suffering from no maintenance and no repairs.

Government workers are stealing from wherever they work, whenever they can as much as they can. Wages for the lower class so low they are virtually unliveable.

Much of Saint Vincent is unsafe to walk at night for personal safety reasons, robberies, muggings, and rapes, sometimes at gun or knifepoint. Murder and theft are becoming very much the norm.

Men are raping their own children and children of girlfriends. Women of all ages being accosted while out walking and in many cases raped and/or assaulted. Women raped in their own homes by intruders.

Beaches are no-go areas when it’s quiet or dark, nasty villains waiting to pounce.

Buses being driven at breakneck speeds resulting in frequent accidents. Many private drivers under the influence of drugs and alcohol driving about with police knowledge.

Houses and commercial property frequently robbed by dangerous armed criminals.

Murders almost every nine days, men allowed to walk about with uncovered cutlasses and frequent cases of people being chopped up by assailants with cutlasses. Illegal firearms are more common than pomegranates.

Corruption in Government is rife and out of control. A family dynasty being created by the prime minister bringing all his children into government, government departments, the UN etc.

Many children unlike the government ministers leave school hardly able to read and write. Hundreds every year join a mountain of no-hopers with no jobs available to them due to the governments failure to attract any kind of industry whatsoever.

Failure to introduce the vital law ‘Integrity Legislation’ fuels huge government corruption. Introduction of laws that benefit certain people but not the public at large. Introduction of laws to frustrate citizens rights to use the law freely. Removal of the PACE Act that controlled the police. The police out of control are beating up citizens in the streets, in their homes and beating into submission and to obtain confessions at police stations, all commonplace. Police and secret police raiding citizens homes and workplaces on the instructions and behest of leading politicians. When raiding homes and workplaces arriving mob handed with side arms and big automatic rifles. Some police are wearing army jungle warfare uniforms with no numbers, name badges or identity at all. Police officers nearly beat to death a youth in the police barracks, prosecuted and given a criminal record, then re-employed in their old jobs and eventually given promotion.

The prime minister introduced the saying “we will hunt them down until they exist no more” which the police take as a license to shoot to kill anyone they choose, wherever and whenever they want.

Citizens are losing their jobs because they do not support the ruling party or the leaders of the party. Not just their own jobs but the whole family and even extended family is at risk of being sent home or refused employment.

Businessmen are having their businesses destroyed by actions by the government and for political reasons by the leadership, mainly because they support the opposition party.

The mental home [using the old name] full of people who are treated abysmally in the recent past sleeping on urine-soaked foam mattresses on the floor. A general hospital with no drugs or medicines, dirty floors, and toilets, broken down medical equipment, often no bed sheets or pillowcases. People frightened to go to the hospital because of the record deaths there, many cases of unwarranted deaths. Unity Labour Party politicians including the prime minister go to Cuba for treatment, leaving the citizens floundering in crap.

People hungry and unable to actually feed themselves while the ULP leadership are getting fatter by the minute. We have a grotesque, obese prime minister called Ralph Gonsalves who is getting so fat he often looks like a beached whale. A man that usually dresses so down because nothing fits him that he is becoming a fashion embarrassment to the people. The same man accused of rape and sexual assault, never been before a judge and jury. Travelling the world with wife, family and entourage, and spending more money in a year than some citizens earn in a lifetime.

Selling off Crown Land at knock-down prices to rich foreigners, removing the land stock for future generations

Getting into business with dirty overseas investors that rip off the citizens and the world and get SVG a bad name.

Selling our UN votes to dirty nasty countries and turning SVG into a prostitute state.

Dirty elections with wholesale bribery of the electorate with building materials, money in envelopes, rigged and fraudulent election polls, ballot boxes stuffed with extra ballots, people voting several times.

The country aligned with a whole bunch of dirty administered countries and states. Venezuela, Cuba, Iran and an assortment of communist crap and flea-ridden scum. Every one of them robbing their people and stuffing billions of dollars into secret bank accounts.

To make it worse, Papa Gonsalves wants to do away with the Queen the Commonwealth and the London Privy Council as our final Court of Appeal. You may ask doesn’t he like them? The answer is yes as a man he loves them, but as a Marxist monster he cannot abide them, and what they stand for, in his eyes, they have to go, and the sooner, the better. So unless we are cautious, we will become more buried in the do-do’s than we are already.

Justice and Democracy is being wiped out in SVG, it’s almost gone.

Could any of this of happened, or be happening if we had stayed under British rule as British citizens, well could it?

No of course not!

Jolly Green, back with the bugle.
