NGCI Fundraising Gala ~ 29 November 2013

1346Join The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands on Friday November 29th in their grounds at the Gallery for “Bright Young Things”.

This year’s highly anticipated National Gallery Fundraising Gala is inspired by the spirit of the 1920s as captured through the artwork of artist and socialite Tamara de Lempicka. Nestled between the two world wars, the roaring Twenties was the age of Jazz, flappers, the Charleston, The Great Gatsby and F. Scott Fitzgerald the “Bright Young Things”. Art Deco was the reigning style and its geometric motifs and bright, bold colors were captured in the Chrysler Building, the luxury liner Normandie, and the interior of Radio City Music Hall, and via designers of jewelry, furniture, clothes, fabrics, and ceramics. It was an era of lavish living and all night parties and  it will be recreated for one night only, in the elegant grounds of the National Gallery.

ABOUT THE GALA – Each year the National Gallery Fundraising Gala is held in aid of the NGCI education programmes. The 25+ monthly education and outreach programmes, across all three islands, aim to capture every age group in our community from the youngest pre-schoolers to senior citizens. They combine arts education with enriching creative experiences which foster creativity and help build self-esteem.
