Missing West Bay men

On Monday, 15th September 2014 police received a report from a family member of Alton Eddie Philips that he left to go fishing outside Cayman waters accompanied by James Michael Ebanks (Aka Fat Patty) on Friday, 12th September 2014. They were scheduled to return home the following Sunday, 14th September 2014, but they had not. They left in a yellow 28 ft. canoe, which was powered by one 85HP Yamaha outboard engine. Following the initial report, Police was also notified that Ray Kennedy Smith was on board the vessel.

The three missing persons are residents of West Bay.

Following the reports, on Monday, 15th September 2014 the US and Jamaican Coast Guards were notified, including authorities in Honduras and Cuba; they were provided with photographs of the missing persons.

Cayman Islands Port Authority was informed who notified marine interest transiting Cayman waters.

Anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of the three missing persons is asked to contact the Marine Commander, Inspector Ian Yearwood at 949-7710.
