meeco further strengthens its management team

New CEO and CIO to support company’s realignment

As international clean energy provider, The meeco Group is actively working to spread renewable energy across five continents. Through the large network of regional offices and strategic partners worldwide, meeco is able to provide customised and first-class renewable energy solutions adapted to the respective local needs and conditions. “In order to maintain these high standards and continue developing new markets within the changing energy sector, we have decided to implement an internal realignment and have restructured the management board accordingly”, states Dr. Wolfgang Weirich, President of the Board of Directors of The meeco Group.

Mr. Sebastian Bovensiepen who has been for the last four years Chief Operation Officer (COO), has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Swiss-headquartered renewable energy company and becomes thereby the new head of the management board. As COO Mr. Bovensiepen has been responsible for a smooth realisation of all project steps, from acquisition to development, installation and operations. He especially supported the different teams involved within the different phases of a project and ensured the internal and external communication. Based on his longstanding experience in the renewable energy sector, he will now head The meeco Group’s realignment aiming to develop new energy markets and expand the range of renewable energy projects and solutions. His functions as COO have been delegated to different members of the team globally to ensure project development and execution moves more into the local markets with strong and stringent central support.

Furthermore, the management board is as of now extended by the Chief Information Technology Officer (CIO) Tarun Munjal from India. As managing director of meeco India (Pvt) Ltd Tarun Munjal has a long-term experience within the company and especially represents a decisive part of the innovation department in terms of energy storage and monitoring having managed the development of the intelligent energy management system sun2safe and the monitoring tool sun2see as well as business systems including the time monitoring tool sun2day. Within the scope of his new position as CIO, Mr. Munjal will drive the development of energy management and monitoring systems for meeco’s worldwide renewable energy projects as meeco is convinced that energy and data management in conjunction down to the last consumption nod will be exponentially important in the future to allow for most reliable least expensive renewable energy provision.
