Large turnout for demonstration against Cayman Islands cruise ship terminal

DSCF1189DSCF1192On Saturday (17) the organisers to try and stop the planned cruise ship terminal in George Town Harbour must have been overjoyed with the turn-out.

Last Wednesday’s protest march against the high gas prices here DSCF1198only attracted a couple of dozen people but this time there was a huge difference.

It was obviously very difficult to count but estimates seemed to agree approximately 400-500 persons gathered with plenty of noisy support from passing vehicles.

There was also long queues to sign the petition to stop the cruise ship berthing terminal in George Town Harbour and save our reefs.

The government cannot have been very happy.
