January Events at Camana Bay

0259wic_322_pc1Camana Bay, Grand Cayman: From indulging in culinary delights  with a Cayman  Cookout dinner  party  and  kicking it luau style with Ortanique’s signature pig roast to listening to the roar of engines at the Cayman Islands International Car Show and showing off your balancing skills at a stand up paddle board challenge – there is always something happening at Camana Bay!

 

Raghavan Iyer Book Signing

Love Indian food but feel it’s too  daunting to recreate  at home? Award-winning cooking teacher  Raghavan  Iyer reveals  the secrets  in his book, Indian Cooking

Unfolded. This free event is part of the Books & Books International Visiting Author Series. Includes cooking demonstration and book signing.

Cayman Islands Humane Society Walk & Wag

Join the Cayman  Islands  Humane  Society for their canine-friendly “Walk and  Wag” 5K Walk/Run. All funds raised from the event go toward caring for the more than 100 animals at the shelter. Pre-registration is available at Foster’s Food Fair at The Strand, and Cafe Del Sol at Camana Bay on Saturday, January 4 and 11 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Participation fee is $25 per person, $200 for company teams of 10.

Floetry

Join Cayman’s most talented  poets  and performers  who share  their work during an open  mic night of poetry and readings.  Share your own work or listen to others.  Floetry takes place  every third Wednesday of the month and is free and open to the public.

Cayman Islands International Car Show

The International Car Show will have over 100 cars, motorbikes and trucks on display. There will be a kids zone and a “wheels and heels” area  for ladies.

Nosotros Spanish Floetry

Spanish-speaking poets and performers—and those who simply enjoy la lengua de Cervantes—are invited to join Nosotros,  a group  whose  mission is to build bridges and create connections through  culture, for their monthly open mic night. Ortanique Pig Roast

The first Island Pig Roast to kick start the winter season!  Join Chefs Mike & Santiago as they fire up the Caja China grill and serve up Cuban-inspired treats. Kick off your shoes  and enjoy an award winning Bacardi mojito then join your friends for a family style dinner under the stars. Cap off the evening by dancing the night away to the sweet sounds of DJ Glenroy. It’s an all-you-can-eat feast with bottomless  mojitos, beer, wine & spirits.
