IP value creation in Latin America – tough, but not impossible

Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru have all taken significant steps in recent times to improve their IP regimes and drive changes to facilitate the commercialisation of IP rights in Latin America.

However, significant issues remain – including registration delays, court hold-ups and patentability uncertainties, as well as ongoing problems with piracy and counterfeiting. This makes developing IP value creation strategies across the continent a challenging task; however, it does not make it an impossible one. And for those who get it right, the rewards can be considerable.

Heading to São Paulo for 2019, IPBC Latin America (4 December) will provide a unique opportunity to hear from leading IP experts from across the region and beyond. Only at IPBC Latin America will you be able to hear value creation success stories and winning strategies for managing the IP lifecycle from major market players, including:

  • Eliza Helena Andrade Barbosa Durham, IP Counsel, Aché
  • Richard Galindo Sanchez, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Avianca
  • Gloria Montaron Estrada, Director, Legal & IP, Bioceres S.A.
  • Thomas Hannickel, Legal Specialist, BRF
  • Robert Earle, Vice President, Assertion, IPR & Licensing, Ericsson

Following last year’s highly successful event, there are limited places remaining for IPBC Latin America 2019 at just $495 – available when registering here using code* LA100.
