Beneficial Ownership Information Filing Requirement for Cayman Islands Ordinary Companies that do not Engage a Corporate Service Provider

The deadline for filing beneficial ownership information for Cayman companies is 30 June 2018. The General Registry will have extended hours on Thursday, 28 June and Friday, 29 June to facilitate filing of beneficial ownership information.

Ordinary resident companies are required to file this information through the Cayman Business Portal (www.cbp.ky).

It is important to note that this filing requirement does not apply to all businesses which maintain a trade and business license issued by the Department of Commerce and Investment but rather only to all ordinary companies incorporated under the Companies Law (2018 Revision) that have not engaged a corporate service provider.

Companies limited by guarantee that are subsequently registered under The Non-Profit Organisations Law, 2017, are not required to file beneficial ownership information.

For more information, contact Head of Compliance Paul Inniss at [email protected].
