Modified Solid Waste Services in Cayman Islands for Easter 2018

The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) advises the public that there will be no garbage collection services on Good Friday, 30 March 2018. Landfills in Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman will also be closed to the public. The 24-hour drop-off site at the entrance of George Town landfill will, however, remain open to facilitate the disposal of small quantities of residential waste.

Landfills will reopen on Saturday, 31 March 2018. Residential garbage collections will also resume in previously uncollected areas on Saturday, 31 March 2018. Communities with the oldest backlog will be prioritised at that time. DEH urges residents to ensure that garbage is properly secured in anticipation for this slight delay in collection services.

For more information, contact DEH’s solid waste unit by telephone at 949-8793 or by email at [email protected].
