The Ministry of Home Affairs can confirm that three serving fire officers have been placed on required leave pending the outcome of an ongoing police investigation relating to photographs being taken and distributed of a crime scene.

Three serving fire officers are subject of a report to the Chief Fire Officer and the Chief Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs following the taking and circulation of photographs of the double death in Bodden Town on Sunday, 2 February.

The RCIPS has outlined the circumstances of the taking and distribution of the images in a report to the chief officers.

The police enquiry into the circulation of the images continues and the RCIPS is in close liaison with the DPP’s office who will ultimately decide what, if any offences, have been committed in relation to the distribution of the images.

If anyone has any information which could assist this enquiry they should contact DI Dennis Walkington on 325-8161.

Police in Cayman Islands probe source of leaked

The police in the Cayman Islands have launched an investigation to determine how photographs of the bodies of  a Jamaican couple in a suspected murder/suicide were leaked.

Images of the bodies spread on Blackberry messenger and social networking sites.

The bodies of Nichelle Anna-Kay Thomas, 21 and Devon Roy Campbell, 39 were found on Monday at a house in a remote area in Bodden Town. Investigators believe the tragedy stemmed from  a domestic dispute.

According to reports, Thomas’s body was found with stab wounds, while Campbell’s body was discovered hanging outside the house.

It’s understood that the incident occurred at the house where Thomas was employed as a domestic helper.

Bodden Town deaths – Sunday 9 February – Update

Detectives investigating the two deaths which occurred at a property in Lookout Gardens, Bodden Town, on Sunday, are appealing to members of the public who may have seen a grey Toyota Corolla  (regd no 141871) parked near farmland in Passion Crescent to come forward.

Anyone who saw the vehicle parked at that location, between 6.00am and 8.25am on Sunday, is asked to contact Detective Inspector Dennis Walkington on 325-8161. DI Walkington is also  keen to speak to anyone who saw Devon Campbell, who was well-known locally,  with the car or in farmland nearby.

The RCIPS can confirm that, at this time, they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this enquiry.

Ongoing investigation Lookout Gardens, Bodden Town – Deceased named 

The RCIPS can now confirm the names of the man and woman whose bodies were found at a property in Lookout Gardens, Bodden Town, this morning as;

Nichelle Anna -Kay Thomas, aged 21 years, and Devon Roy Campbell, aged 39 years. Both individuals were Jamaican nationals, resident in the Bodden Town area.

A further update will be provided in due course.

Ongoing investigation Lookout Gardens, Bodden Town

The RCIPS can confirm that around 8.25 am today,  Sunday 9 February,  the bodies of a man and woman were found at a property in Lookout Gardens, Bodden Town.  CID and Scenes of Crime officers are currently on location and an investigation into the deaths is underway.

One line of enquiry currently being pursued by detectives is that the incident may be domestic related. A further update will be provided in due course.

Homicide and possible suicide in Bodden Town

The RCIPS is on the scene of a homicide and a possible suicide involving a female victim and male respectively in the Lookout Gardens area of Bodden Town.

The report was received about 8:25 am Sunday 9 February 2014.

Further details will be released later as the situation develops.
