Heckler tries to disrupt Cayman Islands political meeting – MV accident results – statement

Statement by The General Secretary of The Peoples’ Progressive Movement, John Meghoo

The Peoples’ Progressive Movement is saddened by an incident and a subsequent accident that occurred last night during Marco Archer’s Yard Meeting at the Party’s Headquarters on Crewe Road.

The Party is praying for the speedy recovery of an unsuspecting female driver and continued strength for her family.

We are particularly concerned about the reckless, behavior of a heckler who tried to disrupt our meeting and whose subsequent disregard for the traffic laws resulted in injuries to the motorist.

We abhor this type of politically inspired behavior. The Cayman Islands have always held free, fair and peaceful elections and the Party does not condone misbehavior in any form.

The Party gives the public of the Cayman Islands the assurance that it will continue to uphold and espouse the best traditions of the Westminster Parliamentary system as we seek re-election on May 24th, 2017.
