Evelyn McTaggart is Cayman Islands DG’s November Awardee

DG-ET-Award1The Deputy Governor’s Award for November 2015 goes to Evelyn McTaggart for being Most Flexible and Willing to Assist.
The Employee of the Month is part of the Deputy Governor’s Award Programme which was developed as an internal scheme to recognize civil servants who exceed expectations.
Mrs. McTaggart is the Deputy Fund and Cash Flow Manager with the Treasury Department. During the award presentation it was noted that her warm, caring and positive attitude which is on display each day, invites staff to approach her with their questions and concerns. She has a unique ability to connect with everyone who comes in contact with her and she expertly identifies the specific needs of each customer coupled with providing the best and most innovative solutions to problems.   What is even more remarkable is that she is able to demonstrate her caring attitude to customers even when she is operating under intense pressure and deadlines.  It is for these reasons that Mrs. McTaggart was recognized as the Employee of the Month for November 2015.
Accountant General, Mr. Matthew Tibbetts, who nominated Mrs. McTaggart for the award, said she is not only an exceptional employee who consistently provides customer service for both internal and external customers, but she is exceptional in keeping to deadlines and encouraging teamwork. “From the feedback we get from Mrs. McTaggart’s customers, they always feel valued and their requests have been viewed seriously and are properly addressed. This quality demonstrates her high level of professionalism. Not only does she carry out her duties with a smile, care and concern, but her detailed knowledge of the policies and procedures of the Treasury Department equips her with the ability to provide quick solutions.  This ensures compliance with established best practice and departmental policies and procedures,” Mr. Tibbetts said.
Financial Secretary and Chief Officer for the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Mr.  Kenneth Jefferson added “Mrs. McTaggart’s excellent work ethic has been acknowledged by this award and, it is well deserved.”
Deputy Governor Hon Franz Manderson praised Mrs. McTaggart for her customer service acumen. “She is viewed as a shining example of customer service excellence in the Treasury Department and the Civil Service as a whole.  This recognition symbolizes and reinforces the values and standards that we expect all staff to exhibit.  She serves as a role model for all Cayman Islands Civil Servants.”
