Dressage riders trot to new heights in Cayman Islands

This past Sunday, the Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation (CIEF) held its third dressage show of the season, enjoying a great turnout of 34 horse and rider combinations several newcomers to the dressage show ring. Competing for the first time at a CIEF Dressage Show were Natalie Galloway, Lucy Lindsay, Reyah Stewart and Madison Ameline. The High Point award for the adult rider went to Kate Flett for earning a 70.19% riding Blue Ridge Dream On at First Level Test 1 and the Junior High Point award was won by Chloe Fowler who scored 67.17% riding her horse, Will to Win at Training Level Test 1. Cindy Canace of New Jersey, USA, a USEF ‘S’ Judge, was impressed with the Cayman riders and was pleased to see so many young people interested and enthusiastic about the sport.

First Level Test 1 (Adult) – Kate Flett riding Blue Ridge Dream On
First Level Test 1 (Junior) – Saskia Drake riding Me and My Shadow
Training Level Test 3 (Adult) – Amara Thompson riding Second Kiss
Training Level Test 3 (Junior) – Eva Muspratt riding Oscar
Training Level Test 2 (Adult) – Caroline Key riding Iggy Pop
Training Level Test 2 (Junior) – Charli Milgate riding Rambo
Training Level Test 1 (Adult) – Juliette Forrester riding Apollo
Training Level Test 1 (Junior) – Chloe Fowler riding Will to Win
Introductory C Test (Junior) – Grace Bostock riding LucyAnna
Introductory B Test (Junior) – Olivia Kluyver riding Shirley Temple

Complete results of this past weekend’s show, as well as all past CIEF horse shows, are available on the CIEF website at www.ciefcay.com/events/show-results/. The CIEF’s next and final dressage show of the season will be the Caribbean Equestrian Association’s Dressage Challenge, in which Cayman Islands riders will be competing against their counterparts in Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. The CEA Dressage Challenge will be held over two days, starting at the Equestrian Center on April 30th and finishing at the Cayman Riding School on May 1st. Start time for both days will be 8:00am. Spectators are welcome and admission is free.
