The Dive Pirates Foundation this week is exploring Clearly Cayman’s newly acquired Cobalt Coast as a location for seasoned adaptive divers to continue enjoying great Caribbean diving.

According to foundation President Sophie Wimberley:

“Cayman Brac will always be our home for our yearly trip with new adaptive divers, and with our longstanding relationship with Cayman Brac Beach Resort and Clearly Cayman and the number of adaptive divers we have introduced into the mainstream diving community, we would like to consider reunion trips to another property of Clearly Cayman’s, Cobalt Coast.”

With paraplegic diver Bryan Shaner and amputee Marlene Krpata, a group of 16 divers is evaluating the property and diving with two meals and two dives a day, along with exploring accessible restaurants, an accessible beach, and a tour of the Cayman Turtle Centre.

Wimberley added:

“We donated our chartered boats on our last day of diving last year in Cayman Brac to assist the Cayman Turtle Centre release new hatchlings to the sea; we loved giving back to the community as well as exposing our divers to a new and rewarding experience, and we hope to continue that relationship into the future.”
