RCIPS’ George Town Neighbourhood officers teamed up with Recreational Parks and Cemetery clean-up crew to beautify the waterfront  and to prevent criminal activity in the vicinity of the Fish Market in George Town yesterday. The objective behind the clean-up was twofold. Chief Inspector Howell, District Commander for the District of George Town said,  “To beautify the area as tourism is one of our main source of sustainability and to deter any and all criminal activities”. That particular area has been known to harbour undesirables who use the location to consume alcohol as well as drugs consumption and sales.

George Town is the pinnacle of the Cayman Islands and, as such, we have to do all that is necessary to keep the people safe and those who visit our shores on a daily basis. Chief Inspector Howell urges everyone to play their part in securing the reputation of the Cayman Islands by reporting those who may be defacing the properties within the areas, loitering, selling and using illegal drugs. “We cannot be everywhere; therefore, we rely on you “the good citizens” of this Country to assist us in policing these Islands”, said Chief Inspector Howell.
