Colours Cayman submits submission to UK re-violations of LGBTI rights

From Colours Cayman

SUBMISSIONS FOR THE FUTURE OF THE UK OVERSEAS TERRITORIES INQUIRY

In July of 2018, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the UK Parliament called for written evidence regarding the future of the British Overseas Territories.

Colours Cayman submitted a written statement highlighting the violations of LGBTI rights by the Cayman Islands Government and instructed English legal counsel Dr Leonardo Raznovich to expand this submission by providing evidence of the breaches of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) by the Caribbean British Overseas Territories (OTs) and evidence of how poorly the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) manages its responsibilities towards them.

Both written submissions were made in early September. On 6 November, the Foreign Affairs Committee accepted and published both submissions.
