Celebrate Cayman joins Brac Heritage Autumn Festival

Celebrate Cayman will be sharing the story of the Cayman Islands Coat of Arms at the Cayman Brac Heritage Autumn Festival this weekend.

The festival, now in its fourth year, features a variety of arts and culture events celebrating Cayman’s creative community, with events and activities taking place from the 12 – 14 October.

Celebrate Cayman will present a gospel concert on Friday 12 October called “He Hath Founded it Upon the Seas”; a name inspired by the country’s motto, which is featured on the Coat of Arms. Visiting international artiste Steve Higgins and other local talent including Elroy Stewartson, Shionna Clarke, and church choir groups will be performing at the concert.

On Saturday 13 October, festival goers can enjoy Heritage Day, which will feature the Cayman Islands Folk Singers, steel pan band ‘Pan N Riddim’ as well as a fireworks display in addition to the Cayman Brac Heritage Autumn Festival’s annual lineup of local food, the Caymanian Homestead, the Bush Tea Party, Heritage Market, and open mic poetry and more.

The festival’s annual Old Fashioned Evangelistic Service will take place on Sunday 14 October.

The public is also invited to view the Celebrate Cayman Travelling District Display, which is currently in Cayman Brac at the Heritage House and will be open until Wednesday 17 October during Heritage House hours.
