Cayman: Three vehicle collision with injury in Bodden Town – UPDATE

UPDATE – 16 Sep 2019:

The man injured in the collision on Saturday, 14 September (see below), remains in hospital in critical condition.
The collision remains under investigation and police are appealing for any who may have witnessed it to contact the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254.

Just after 8:30PM last night, 14 September police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Center to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles. The incident took place on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Brightview Drive, Bodden Town.

One man was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by the Cayman Islands Fire Service. He received serious and possibly life-threatening-injuries and was transported to the hospital by the ambulance where he is currently being treated. He is believed to be in critical condition.

Another man age 31, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and later bailed as the investigation continues.

Shamrock Road was closed over night to preserve the scene for accident reconstruction to take place. The roadway has now been cleared and opened to the public.

The matter is under investigation.
