Cayman Islands Tourism Apprenticeship Training Programme final graduation

CITA gradThe Tourism Apprenticeship Training Programme (TATP) recently held its final graduation service recognising the six apprentices.

The TATP, which began in 2006, was designed to provide apprentices with the technical skills and work experience necessary to succeed in today’s fast paced tourism and hospitality industry. A total of 78 students graduated from the programme over the years. The establishment of the School of Hospitality Studies (SHS) marked the end of TATP.

The six TATP students completed their City and Guilds instruction and training in the areas of: Food & Beverage, Food Preparation and Food Safety. The on-the-job training each graduate received was facilitated by local businesses like the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa, Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink, Ortanique restaurant, The Ritz- Carlton, Grand Cayman and Grand Cayman Beach Suites.
