Law360, New York (October 25, 2017, 2:46 PM EDT) — Attorneys for the former general secretary of the Football Association have told a New York federal court that their client, a “sad, semi-retired” Peter Pan of a man, should be given time served for his role in the corruption scandal.

The otherwise dull life Costas Takkas led, coupled with his misguided faith in Jeffrey Webb as the savior of Caribbean soccer, warrant the below-guidelines sentence, his attorneys told the court in a memorandum Sunday.

Takkas, 60, will be sentenced Oct. 31 after pleading guilty to corruption charges.
