Cayman Islands NRA announces road improvements along Shamrock Road and Hirst Road intersection

The National Roads Authority (NRA) along with its subcontractors will be upgrading a section of Shamrock Road near Countryside and Savannah, commencing on September 3rd, 2018. The work at this location is to upgrade this portion of road to improve the rough pavement and drainage in this area.
Section 1, as shown on the schematic, is part of an overall project to improve the geometry of the intersection as well as drainage. Works on Section 1 will take place on September 3rd and 4thbetween 9:00am and 3:00pm. During these works motorists are asked to try to avoid the area by using the East-West Arterial.
Other sections will be scheduled over the next two months. During the construction period drivers are asked to keep watch for traffic diversions and asked to drive with caution.
The NRA will be sending out separate notifications for Sections 2, 3 and 4 to give sufficient warning to motorists of pending road works in the area.
