Cayman Islands: New Property Attorney Joins HSM

DSC_2467HSM welcomes new attorney Harriet Waterhouse, who was recently admitted to the Cayman Islands Bar on 23rd February, 2016. After graduating with first class honours in Law and Mathematics and being admitted as a solicitor in 2011 in the UK, Harriet’s legal career began in a residential and commercial property practice, working with several leading international law firms.

An active member of The Association of Women in Property from 2012 to 2015, Harriet has cultivated diverse professional ties across the UK property market, networking regularly with real estate companies, property lawyers and construction professionals. She has acted for numerous major hotel and pub groups: specifically land purchases and developments. Her experience includes mixed use development spaces which incorporate complex hotel, residential and retail blocks. She was also selected in 2014 as the country contributor for The European Law Firm’s guidebook publication on “Buying & Selling Property in England and Wales.”

At HSM Harriet will advise a wide range of clients from non-resident/resident high net worth individuals to local businesses and larger corporations seeking legal advice on property matters. With experience across all aspects of property law from acquisitions and disposals, development transactions (particularly in hotel development), pre-construction sales and all landlord and tenant matters, Harriet is eager to begin working with clients in the Cayman Islands.

Managing Partner, Huw Moses OBE notes: “Harriet will be a great asset to our firm. She brings a wealth of experience in the property and real estate field: a sector that is now seeing renewed growth. We are pleased to have her as our colleague and a resource to our clients.”
