Motor Vehicle Collision, Bodden Town, 23 September

Just before 4:30AM, on Saturday 23 September, police and other emergency services were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre.

The incident occurred when a vehicle travelling along Shamrock Road into Bodden with a male driver and 3 passengers collided into the wall of a residence in Bodden Town, causing what appear to be minor injuries to all parties involved and extensive damage to the white Toyota Hilux involved. Other property was also damaged.

The driver of the vehicle was warned for intended prosecution for Careless Driving and the matter is currently under police investigations.

 

Motor vehicle collision involving the ORIA fence, 23 September

Just after 10Pm on Saturday 23 September, police was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving a red Hyundai Tuscan and the ORIA Fence.

The incident took place on Dorcy Drive, the driver of the vehicle a 38-year-old-woman of George Town, appeared to have lost control of the vehicle and collided in the airport fence and ran into the grass just before the runway. A portion of the fence was knocked down and there was damage to her vehicle.

The woman did not appear to have sustained any injury and declined medical attention on scene. While on scene, police had cause to arrest the woman on suspicion of DUI. She was granted bail and the matter is under police investigations.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision, Linford Pierson/Agnes Way, 24 September

Just before 9pm yesterday, 24 September, police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving 2 vehicles by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre. The incident took place near the junction of Linford Pierson Highway and Agnes Way.

Both vehicles involved, a brown Toyota Hiace and a blue Ford Explorer receive extensive damage. The officer attending to the report saw a small flame emitting from the Toyota Hiace and immediately requested the Fire Department’s attendance. On their arrival at the location they extinguished the flame.

There were no physical injuries seen on either driver of the two vehicles. They were attended to by the Emergency Medical Services, who also attended, and both decline medical assistance. There were no other persons or vehicles involved.

One of the men, age 58 of George Town was arrested on suspicion of DUI and later bailed. The matter is under police investigation.
