A man, age 22 of East End, was arrested on suspicion of Attempted Murder yesterday in connection with the incident below and is currently in Police Custody.

The victim of the attack remains in hospital in critical condition.

Just after 1AM Saturday morning, 20 August, an officer on patrol in East End discovered an unconscious man across the street from Pirates Cove Bar on Seaview Road. The officer provided First Aid to the man and summoned emergency services.

The man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he underwent brain surgery Saturday and is currently in a coma, in critical condition. He is currently at the Shetty Hospital.

The man, age 50, had been the victim of an attack during which he had been severely beaten. Police understand that a second person may also have been injured in the attack.
