Cayman Islands: UPDATE- Man arrested in connection with stabbing in George Town early Monday (11) morning

The man, age 34, of George Town, who was arrested on 11 January in connection with a stabbing incident early that morning, has been charged with Wounding (inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm) and will appear in court today, 13 January.

The victim is in stable condition after surgery.

Just after 1:00AM this morning, 11 January, officers were called to the emergency room of George Town Hospital where a man had arrived by private car with stab wounds to his abdomen. The man informed officers that he had been stabbed during an argument at a residence on School Road in George Town. Uniform officers attended the residence and made inquiries; around 3:30AM a man, age 34, of George Town, attended George Town Police Station in response to these inquiries and was arrested on suspicion of Assault (Grievous Bodily Harm). He is currently in custody.

The victim underwent surgery and is currently in stable condition.
