Cayman Islands: Four arrested during police operations in Bodden Town Friday morning, 19 August; Two charged with Robbery

As a result of diligent investigation in recent weeks into recent robberies in the Bodden Town area, police searched two addresses in Bodden Town last Friday morning, 19 August and made multiple arrests.

At one address two men (now known to be illegal entrants into the Cayman Islands from Jamaica) were arrested on suspicion of robbery. A third man, age 39 of Bodden Town, was arrested on suspicion of harbouring fugitives (Conspiracy to Commit an Offence). He is now on Police Bail.

At another address one man, age 32 of Bodden Town, was arrested on suspicion of possession of Ganja. He is now on Police Bail.

Over the weekend enquiries continued and this morning, 22 August, the two men arrested on suspicion of robbery have been charged as follows:

A man, age 28, of Jamaica, charged with Robbery and Possession of an Imitation Firearm in connection with the 12 August armed robbery at DND Accessories and Things in Bodden Town;

A man, age 21, of Jamaica, charged with Robbery and Possession of an Imitation Firearm in connection with the same incident.

Both men are appearing in court this morning.
