Man Arrested in Animal Cruelty Incident, 21 May

Yesterday, 21 May, a man, age 18 of North Side, was arrested on suspicion of Animal Cruelty in connection with the incident on 13 May during which a dog was badly burned.  The dog is reported to be recovering.  The man is now on Police bail.

Police Respond to Complaint of Animal Cruelty in North Side, Saturday, 13 May

On Saturday, 13 May, police received a report of animal cruelty at a residential address in North Side where a dog had allegedly been set afire.  Officers responded to the location and gathered information from those in the area, but the dog could not be located.  Personnel from the Cayman Islands’ Humane Society also arrived and searched for the dog.  Several hours later that day the animal was located and police were informed that the dog had been badly burned but was alive and being treated.
