Cayman Islands Airports Authority employee receives certificate in airport security

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (10 September 2018) The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA) announced today that Mr. Anthony Wedderburn, Hold Bag Screening Supervisor, received his certificate in Airport Security in September 2018.

Mr. Wedderburn received his certificate in Airport Security from Airports Council International after completing online training at Airports Council International Online Learning Center.

“I am extremely grateful to the CIAA for funding this course and for providing me with such a rewarding opportunity,” said Mr. Wedderburn. “The skills and knowledge that I learned in Airport Security training will help me grow within the CIAA family and succeed in my role.”

The two-week course included modules in Aviation Security, Basic Security Measures, The Structure of Aviation Security, Understanding Threat and Risk Assessment, Security Technologies and their Capabilities, Human Factors, Security culture and Training, Quality Assurance and Quality Management and Security and Incident Response.

“We are very proud of Mr. Wedderburn for being the first CIAA employee to achieve this accomplishment and congratulate him for taking the initiative to gain valuable insight into Airport Security operations,” said Chief Security Officer Mr. Shane Bothwell.
