Cayman Islands ACC releases short statement on the arrest of 7 November 2017

Investigators from the Anti-Corruption Commission have arrested a 39 year old male from the Bodden Town area in connection with an ongoing corruption probe.

The man is a public official and the arrest has been made on allegations of corruption.

As the inquiry is continuing,  the ACC statement says, no more details will be released about this latest arrest at this time.

This arrest would appear to relate to the probe into the immigration department and the permanent residency heritage test.

This is the tenth person arrested in this case. He will be facing allegations of bribery of a public officer, fraud on the government and breach of trust, all contrary to the Anti-Corruption Law.

All previous nine people have been released on bail and no one to date has been charged in relation to this investigation.
