Cayman: 100 Women in Finance to host Mixology Competition for GirlForce100

100WF Philanthropy Committee are hosting our Annual Corporate Mixology Competition next week, Thursday September 26th.

This year, the fundraising efforts are dedicated to 100WF’s Cayman 2019 philanthropic beneficiary, GirlForce 100, our flagship mentoring programme. GirlForce 100 pairs professional women from 100WF’s membership with female Caymanian public high school students, who have an interest and potential in a career in finance, but lack the resources and support to achieve their full potential. The GirlForce 100 mentors provide key guidance to their mentees in three main areas which include mentoring, goal setting and life orientation.

This year’s event is looking to be another fantastic one all-round, both for the participants and the guests. We are expecting to have full attendance, and hoping that success will be reflected on our fundraising for GirlForce 100.

100WF’s Cayman philanthropic beneficiary, GirlForce 100, is the organization’s flagship mentoring programme. GirlForce 100 pairs professional women from 100WF’s membership with female Caymanian public high school students who have been selected by educators as having potential for successful careers in the financial services industry, but who lack the resources and support to achieve their full potential. The GirlForce 100 mentors provide key guidance to their mentees in three main areas which include mentoring, goal setting and life orientation.

“Fundraising events such as this have allowed our membership and others from the local community to support our organization’s 2019 global philanthropic theme, ‘Investing in the Next Generation’, in a fun, relaxed and engaging way.” said Laurie Mernett and Anne-Marie Leadbetter, Co-Chairs of the 100WF Cayman Philanthropy Committee. “Our hope for this year’s theme is to establish purposeful pathways into the financial services industry for our young local women, and further support them in the early years of their careers.”

Since its launch in 2013, 100WF Cayman has raised more than US$290,000 for local charities, including the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, Literacy Is For Everyone, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Special Needs Foundation Cayman. Parties interested in more information about this event are invited to contact the 100WF Cayman Philanthropy Committee ([email protected]).
