As the World Bank and IMF turn 75, experts discuss the “crisis of multilateralism” and the  future of trade, inclusive globalization, human rights & governance and more

WASHINGTON – Georgetown Law’s Center for the Advancement of the Rule of Law in the Americas (CAROLA) together with the Bank Information Center and the Bretton Woods Project will host “Bretton Woods at 75: The Future of Multilateralism” at Georgetown Law on Monday, Oct. 21.

WHAT
 

Could a new approach to multilateralism effectively address rising nationalist tensions and social critiques of the international economic order that the World Bank and IMF have helped create since their founding 75 years ago? Leading experts from the United States as well as South America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa will exchange ideas on panels including “Human Rights & Democratic Governance,” “The Future of Trade,” “Climate Change,” the launch of the new book “World Trade and Investment Law Reimagined: A Progressive Agenda for an Inclusive Globalization,” edited by Georgetown Law’s Alvaro Santos and Cornell Law’s Chantal Thomas, and a plenary session on “A Roadmap to Reform.”
