WASHINGTON, March 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — On Thursday, March 22, ACCA USA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and the Institute of Caribbean Studies will release their first joint report, Caribbean Talent Across Borders: The Value of Global Mobility in Accounting and Finance.

“We are proud to present this new research examining the far reach of Caribbean talent in the accounting and finance professions, alongside the Institute of Caribbean Studies,” said Warner Johnston, Head of ACCA USA. “As the global body for professional accountants, ACCA knows that mobility and cross-cultural exchange make businesses stronger.”

Participants in the research roundtables held in Kingston, Port of Spain, Toronto and Washington DC point to the importance of quality education, training, and pay in preparing talent for global mobility. “In addition to being technically prepared, accountants and financial professionals point to the need for cultural literacy and sensibilities, and the benefits of both personal and professional relationships built across borders,” stated Dr. Claire Nelson, Founder and President of the Institute of Caribbean Studies.

The release will be celebrated with an evening reception at the Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Washington, D.C.

The event will feature remarks by the Trinidad and Tobago Ambassador to the U.S., Anthony Phillips-Spencer, in addition to Dr. Claire Nelson and Carol-Ann Boothe, ACCA USA Network Chair.
