4th Annual Cayman Islands Book Fair

CayWriters will host the 4th Annual Cayman Islands Book Fair on October 28 and 29. Starting at 10:30am on Saturday, October 28 at the George Town Public Library until 2:30 p.m., there will be book sales by local authors, author readings and kids activities.  The Fair continues that evening at Art Nest Creative Studio from 6:00pm to 10:00pm where members of the public will enjoy a social time with local authors, hearing author readings and experience a few writing exercises for budding or established writers.
The book fair features a range of books for kids, young teens and adults, including mystery and adventure novels and poetry. Writers, parents, children, teachers, and the community are invited to attend.
On the second and final day of the Fair, Sunday, October 29 from 10:00am to 5:00pm, the book fair will feature a range of workshops at Art Nest Creative Studio including Nutrition for the Writer presented by Dr. Kalila Bodden (10:00 — 10:50am), Poetry 101 by Annikki Brown (11:00 am — 11:45 am), Creating a Writing Routine by Elke Feuer (12:00pm — 12:55pm), Breaking Free: Finding Purpose for your Pain by Dr. Nicole Eastman (1:00pm — 1:55pm) and Screenwriting 101 with Tomy Wilkerson (2:00 pm — 2:55pm).
Local literary programmes such as L.I.F.E. and Rotary Central Cayman Islands will be on hand to provide the community with more information on their efforts and how anyone interested can get involved.
“I started the book fair to highlight the local writers in Cayman and connect them with the community so they could have a positive impact on Cayman’s literary community both young and old. It’s a passion project I hope becomes part of Cayman’s community, and an event everyone looks forward to each year,” said Elke Feuer, Founder of CayWriters and the Book Fair.

Proceeds from the fair will also go towards future Cayman Islands Book Fairs and sponsorship of local authors to represent the Cayman Islands at other international book fairs.
The main event at the GT Library on October 28 is free to the general public and $30 for Authors to register for a table, reading sessions and social. Entrance fee for October 28 evening social event is $10. Workshops on October 29 costs $100 or there is a discounted rate of CI$125 for the entire Book Fair.
