Cayman Islands National Gallery’s Annual Fundraising Gala is fashioned focused

One of the most anticipated parties of the year is set to take place at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI) 30 November 2018. The Art of Fashion Costume Gala promises to inspire guests while raising essential funds for the Gallery’s free community programmes for all ages and backgrounds.

NGCI Director, Natalie Urquhart explains, “NGCI is an inclusive gathering place which honours our artistic heritage, celebrates art and seeks to provide inspiring learning experiences for all of our diverse public. By purchasing a ticket to The Art of Fashion Costume Gala you are directly supporting free art educational programmes and opportunities for all ages and abilities.” Funds from last year’s Infinity Ball have provided NGCI with supplies and teaching resources for the Education Department and helped to fund the multifaceted Family Fun programme. Further, funds raised ensured that admission to all the NGCI exhibitions remained free of charge and accessible to everyone.

This year NGCI’s fundraising costume gala has been inspired by the current exhibition on show, Art of Fashion, a look at the influence of art and fashion on Caymanian Culture. Collections by Caymanian fashion designers Isy B and Jawara Alleyne will be showcased during an exciting runway show the evening of the gala.

Ms Urquhart adds, “We’ve planned stunning décor thanks to Celebrations and Intec – as well as a fusion of edible experiences thanks to Mise en Place and Jacques Scott Wines and Spirits.  Long-time partners, Cayman Airways and other local businesses come together to help us offer grand auction packages unique to Cayman. We cannot thank our sponsors and volunteers enough for their support of the event, it is going to be an event to remember.”

Guests are encouraged to adopt the extreme fashion dress code for this year’s event and organisers have published a Pinterest Page (natgalcayman), to share visual collections of extreme fashion-inspired looks.  Ms Urquhart notes, “Our Gala patrons are very enthusiastic about dressing up and we can’t wait to see their interruptions of this year’s theme.”

Tickets to the event are CI $195.00 per person or CI $1,900.00 for a table of ten, CI $3,000 for a premium table of ten, and CI $3,500.00 for a premium table of twelve.
