WISTA, Cayman Islands – Elects New Board

Established in 1974, the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA International) is a global organization connecting female executives, leaders and decision makers around the world. WISTA International serves as a connector for its global network of more than 3,800 female professionals from all sectors of the maritime industry.

The Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association Cayman Islands, the Cayman Islands’ NWA (National WISTA Association) (WISTA Cayman Islands) was founded in August 2014 and hosted the WISTA International AGM and conference in 2019. Today, the organization continues to focus on spreading awareness while providing a supportive network for females who deliver high-impact leadership in their respective organizations within Cayman’s thriving maritime industry. The aim and objectives of WISTA Cayman Islands is to provide a supportive network for likeminded women within the industry while encouraging the younger generation into careers in maritime. We work together to coordinate and participate in educational and interactive programs to expand knowledge, develop productive relationships and discover solutions and opportunities that will aid in advancing maritime careers in the Cayman Islands.

With the election of a new Board of Directors, WISTA Cayman Islands is adopting new strategic objectives and operational functions for the upcoming years, hoping to broaden the horizon and enhance the scope of the organization.

The newly elected board consists of:

Kayla Martin, President and Director (Cayman Islands Shipping Registry) Nanlee Cover, Director/Past President (Cayman Airways)
Vangie Hunter, Director and Treasurer (Hyde Shipping Corporation)
Keisha Yates, Director and Secretary (Port Authority of the Cayman Islands) Sherice Arman, Director/Past President (Maples Group) Doris Swaby, Director/Past President (Cayman Islands Government) Natasha Bunting, Director (Saffery Trust, Cayman Ltd.)
Robynette Hera, Director (Maples Group)

Each board member brings experience, connections, and expertise in their roles within the maritime industry including business development, maritime law, shipping, logistics, port finance, port management and more.
