Question:       Has anyone run the Grand Cayman Marathon?  My long term goal is to participate in that.  I dig the Caymans and think it would be a nice place to run a marathon or half marathon.

Answer:         I ran the half marathon two years ago.  I ran it as a ‘fun run’ after running the Philly marathon a few weeks prior to the GC race.  It was a blast as my two cousins ran it too.  They have a neat finish line area just for the runners stocked with snacks and beer.  You can’t ask for much more because when you’re done there, all you do is go back to recover on the beach!!

It’s not a huge race, but the folks who run it are very friendly and do a nice job organising the day.  Just be warned that the race starts at 5:00 a.m.!
