Weapons uncovered during search

Knuckle duster

A cache of prohibited weapons was uncovered during the search of a house in Bodden Town on Friday.

Shortly before 5.00pm on Friday (16 December) officers carried out an operation at a house in the Northward Road area of Bodden Town. During the search two unlicensed spear guns, a dagger, a flick knife, a baton  and a knuckle duster were found. (see photos attached).

The weapons were seized by police and the householder was arrested on suspicion of possession of unlicensed spear guns and prohibited weapons.
Chief inspector Robert Scotland said: “These types of operations will continue throughout the Eastern Districts in an effort to take illegal and unlicensed weapons off the streets.

“If anyone has information about the whereabouts of any illegal weapons they should contact us at Bodden Town police station or on the RCIPS tip-line 949-7777.”
