On Monday 18 February 2013 about 11:10 pm the police and paramedics responded to a report of a female visitor in distress at the Westin Hotel on the 7 Mile Beach.

The 61 yrs. old visitor was in company of her husband who rendered CPR, which was continued by paramedics.

She was transported by ambulance to  the George Town Hospital where continued attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service is investigating.
