UPDATE: Man Charged in relation to shot fired in George Town

UPDATE (20 April):

A man, age 26 of George Town, was arrested on Tuesday, 18 April, and has been formally charged with Possession of an Imitation Firearm with Intent to Cause Harassment, Alarm or Distress, in relation to an incident on 9 March at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Shedden Road where it was reported that a man fired a shot at another man.

He appeared in court yesterday, 19 April, and was granted bail with strict conditions, pending a further appearance on 16 May.


Initial Release (9 April):

Shortly before 10:40PM last night, 9 March, officers responded to a report of a firearm incident on Eastern Avenue in the vicinity of the Shedden Road intersection. It was reported that a man had been approached by another man known to him. The second man brandished a firearm and fired a single shot at the first man, and then left the scene on foot. The first man was not hit by the shot and was not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as being about 5’6” in height, of dark complexion and slim build.

The matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
