The uncle of “Lotto lout” Michael Carroll has died in an apparent murder-suicide in a Norfolk village.
Stephen Muncaster, 47, was found in the front garden of a bungalow in Magdalen near King’s Lynn in the early hours of Tuesday, while his partner Allison, 48, was discovered inside the house.
Detective Superintendent Paul Durham said: “As a result of our initial investigation this morning there is no evidence to suggest that anyone else was involved in this incident.
“However, our investigation into the full circumstances surrounding their deaths will continue. At the moment it is thought that both of them died from gunshot wounds and a firearm has been located at the scene.
“Home Office post mortems will take place in due course and we will seek to formally identify the couple as soon as possible.”

Forensic teams were seen searching the house, and the road to the property was closed while investigations continued.
Mr Carroll told The Sun that it was “sad news”, but that he had not spoken to his uncle or Mr Muncaster’s previous partner Kelly since 2005. He added: “No one knows why he did it except him.”
The lottery winner was living with Mr Muncaster and since estranged wife Kelly at the Magdalen home when he scooped a £9.7 million jackpot aged 19 in 2002.
Mr Carroll became known as the ”Lotto lout” when he collected his winnings wearing an electronic tag. He hit the headlines as he frittered away chunks of his fortune, but also gave sums to relatives including Mr Muncaster and his then wife.
Councillor Sandra Squire, whose Wimbotsham with Fincham Ward borders Magdalen, saw the cordoned off area in Stow Road when she dropped off her children – who are aged six and nine – at nearby Magdalen Village School.
Mrs Squire said: ” Magdalen is a tiny village, most people don’t even know it exists. We are completely stunned. It’s horrendous.
“What concerns me most as a school governor is the road block for the incident is where some of the kids walk past. It is transition week anyway, which is very unsettling, so this is even more unsettling for them. Nothing gets past kids.
“It is so shocking in a really tiny village and a tight-knit community. It’s going to take a while for everyone to get over this.”
South West Norfolk Tory MP Elizabeth Truss said: “This is extremely shocking and my thoughts are very much with the family and friends of those involved.
“Obviously the investigation is ongoing and I know the police are out in the community speaking to local residents about what has taken place. I have asked the Chief Constable to keep me updated on developments.”
