Already the island’s leading marketing firm, Tower has placed itself firmly at the top of the pack when it comes to event management, having successfully organised and held one of the largest conferences in the Cayman Islands this year – the Cayman Islands Healthcare Conference.

The 2014 Healthcare Conference, which took place last week at The Ritz-Carlton, is the fifth annual event organised by Tower, a testament to Tower’s longevity and consistent approach to event management.

Tower’s Managing Director, Mrs Lynne Byles said she was particularly pleased with this year’s event and attendance.

“The 2014 conference had the largest attendance of any of the five healthcare conferences, with 850 registered delegates, over 50 sponsors and over 40 exhibitors,” she said. “In comparison, the first healthcare conference had less than 300 delegates. This year’s event also welcomed eight international and two local speakers and it offered four separate workshops with 24 panellists in total. Each workshop hosted between 35-80 delegates – an impressive turnout.”

Mrs Byles said the key to the success of the Healthcare Conference lay in the fulfilment of its objective to make real and tangible differences in the health and wellness of the people of the Cayman Islands.

“While the conference is a forum for education and information sharing, we have always made it our number one goal to include workshops and breakout sessions that result in recommendations and outputs that are presented to government in order that they can include feedback from the community in their planning.”

“For example, following last year’s conference on workplace wellness, we polled delegates to ask if they had made any health improvements since attending the 2013 conference,” Mrs Byles said. “The conference planning committee were impressed by the number of respondents to the survey who indicated their health and that of their families had been given a boost thanks to them attending last year’s conference.”

Hon. Osbourne Bodden, Minister of Health, Sports, Youth and Culture, said he was also happy with the success of this year’s event.

“The Cayman Islands Government is committed to helping the public improve their health and that of their families which is why the Ministry of Health holds this annual Healthcare Conference, which does much to educate and inform attendees on the many different ways in which they can do so,” he said. “But we would not be able to produce such a high quality event each year without the dynamic, focussed and organised firm of event management professionals at Tower. We are grateful to Tower for the tremendous hard work they put in to creating such a first class event, including generating considerable interest leading up to the conference, as well as producing a seamless flow of presentations and workshops throughout the three days.
