hbo-vinyl-castingCreated by Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter, the new drama series premieres on February 14th, simultaneously with the United States

Miami, FL – February 2, 2016 – HBO has announced the premiere of the new original drama series, Vinyl, on February 14th at 21hrs*, simultaneous with the United States. Created by three of the most recognized names in the industry, Martin Scorsese (HBO’s Boardwalk Empire), winner of multiple Oscar® and Emmy® awards; Mick Jagger, the legendary artist, winner of a Golden Globe® award; and Emmy® winner, Terence Winter (HBO’s Boardwalk Empire), Vinyl is a ride through the sex and drug addled music business of 1970s New York at the dawn of punk, disco and hip-hop. The ten-episode series includes a two-hour pilot, directed by Scorsese, followed by one-hour episodes every subsequent Sunday. Vinyl will also be available on HBO GO and HBO On Demand.

Vinyl follows the story of Richie Finestra, founder and president of American Century Records, who finds himself fighting to save his company and soul without destroying everyone in his path. With his passion for music and discovering talent gone by the wayside, and his company on the precipice of being sold, Richie experiences a life-altering event that reignites his love of music, but severely damages his personal life. His wife, Devon, a former actress and model for the renowned Andy Warhol during the 60’s, spends her days with their two children, in their suburban Greenwich home. Richie’s personal and professional crises put additional stress on their relationship, inspiring Devon to return to her Bohemian roots.

Meanwhile, as head of promotions and a partner at American Century, Zak Yankovich’s experience in the industry and vital relationships make him an invaluable part of the company, though he works in Richie’s shadow. Their professional relationship is strained by disagreements over how to guide the company through the music landscape of 1973.

Vinyl stars two-time Emmy® award winner, Bobby Cannavale (HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) as Richie Finestra; SAG® award nominee, Olivia Wilde (HBO’s Doll and Em) as Devon; and multiple Emmy® award winner, Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond) as Zak Yankovich.

The cast also includes performances from: Ato Essandoh as Lester Grimes, Richie’s first client in the 1960s; Max Casella as Julius “Julie” Silver, Director of A&R (Artists & Repertoire) at American Century, who fights to stay relevant in the world of rock ‘n’ roll; PJ Byrne as Scott Levitt, business partner and attorney at American Century, whose personality and legal decisions constantly test Richie’s patience; and JC MacKenzie as Skip Fontaine, head of sales and partner at American Century, whose sometimes questionable practices increase the company’s profits.

The series also includes performances by Birgitte Hjort Sørensen in the role of Ingrid, Devon’s friend; Juno Temple as Jamie Vine, the ambitious A&R assistant at American Century who uses her experiences to integrate herself into New York’s music scene; Jack Quaid as Clark Morelle, an ambitious A&R executive; James Jagger as Kip Stevens, founder and singer for the rock band, The Nasty Bits; and Paul Ben-Victor as Maury Oro, Richie’s mentor and owner of Rondelay Records.

Scorsese, Jagger, and Winter serve as executive producers along with Rick Yorn, Victoria Pearman, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, John Melfi, Allen Coulter and George Mastras.
