The essential items you should pack when taking a trip to Singapore

A total of 18.5 million tourists visit Singapore every year, and the number is still on the rise.

Why wouldn’t they? Singapore is an awesome country, with a wealth of things to do.

There’s something to appeal to everyone, no matter what appeals to them when on vacation:

  • Islands with beautiful beaches
  • Bustling metropolitan cities
  • Exciting nightlife
  • Thrilling adventures

If you are taking a trip to Singapore, it’s important to know what to pack so you’re prepared for all of these things and anything else this country has to offer.

These are the essentials.

1. Rain Jacket

Singapore doesn’t really have “wet” and “dry” seasons — it usually rains at some point every single month.

That means that even if you’re taking a Singapore vacation at a time when you expect it to be hot, you still need to pack some sort of rain gear. Otherwise, you risk getting caught in a serious downpour!

2. Light, Airy Clothing

You may need to be prepared for rain in Singapore, but you also need to be prepared for the heat.

It’s very hot, and this place maintains a steady temperature all year round so there’s little reprieve. Make sure you know what to wear in Singapore.

Your clothing should be comfortable and easy to move around in, or you’re going to seriously suffer in this country.

3. Bug Spray

Mosquitos and other bugs carry diseases, and it’s important to keep them away.

The government also do their best to take precautions for the people but especially on the outer edges, it’s difficult to do.

Come equipped with your own deterrent to keep the bugs away and keep yourself safe.

4. A Portable Charger

In an unfamiliar place, it’s easy to get lost. The last thing you want to happen is for your phone to die.

As long as your phone is alive, you can always Google map your way back to the place you’re staying. Portable chargers are usually inexpensive and can attach to your phone using a USB cable, so carry it around with you just in case!

5. A Nice Outfit

Although you want to be comfortable in the heat, especially during the day, pack a nice outfit! Singapore clothing tends to be very dressed up.

This is especially true if you’re going out at night. Why not set aside a specific night to go for dinner and to a nice bar?

The 1 Altitude Sightseeing Experience is a great place for this, with its amazing views and high-class style.

6. Sunscreen

If you forget any toiletries, you can probably just buy them on arrival. But the one thing you should make sure you have on hand from the start when traveling to Singapore is sunscreen.

The heat will hit you the moment you land, and it’s important to be well-prepared. Nothing ruins a vacation more than spending it in agony because you’ve been burnt.

Ready for Your Trip to Singapore?

Aside from these, you should of course pack anything you usually would for a trip — medication, cosmetics, travel insurance documentation.

But the above items are especially important for a trip to Singapore, so don’t forget them!
